OAKBERRY Maynooth: Making allergen information easier for everyone
At OAKBERRY Maynooth, AllyJen puts menu, allergen and dietary information within easy reach of both customers and staff. With a shared tablet, a QR code at the ordering kiosk and online access, checking what’s in a menu item is now a more convenient part of the ordering experience.

From a paper folder to information at your fingertips
Looking up allergen information in a manual paper folder can interrupt service and make it harder for customers to explore their options at their own pace.
OAKBERRY Maynooth uses AllyJen to give staff and customers a practical digital alternative. A tablet in the store allows both to search menu items and check information against specific allergens or dietary preferences.
For staff, this means less time spent looking through pages and a clear reference point when answering customer questions. It also gives team members a resource they can refer to together, supporting more consistent communication without relying on memory.

More choice in how customers access information
Every customer approaches ordering differently. Some prefer to speak with a team member, while others want time to review the menu themselves. At OAKBERRY Maynooth, customers have several ways to access AllyJen:
On the in-store tablet: Search menu items and explore allergen and dietary information, independently or with a member of staff.
On their own phone: Scan the QR code displayed on the POS ordering kiosk to open AllyJen on their own device.
By email: Enter their email address on the tablet to have access to the live, up-to-date guide emailed to them there and then.
Through the OAKBERRY website: Access AllyJen at oakberry.ie, including before visiting the store.
These options give customers more independence and time to consider their choices, while keeping staff available to help with questions or discuss specific requirements.
Supporting the team behind the counter
The benefit extends beyond the customer-facing experience. Having an accessible digital guide helps staff handle menu questions as part of their everyday workflow.
Instead of finding a paper folder and searching manually, team members can bring up the relevant information on the tablet and review it with the customer. This is particularly useful for newer colleagues who are still becoming familiar with the menu.
The guide supports the conversation between staff and customers, providing a shared source of information and making it easier to identify questions that need further clarification.
One guide, several ways to connect
OAKBERRY Maynooth shows how a simple change in access can make allergen information more useful throughout the customer journey: before a visit, while ordering and afterwards.
For customers, it means greater convenience and independence. For staff, it means an accessible reference that supports clearer conversations and reduces reliance on a manual paper folder.
